Teaching Teachers at AISD’s Science and Math Conference

Lucia Brimer and I joined forces and taught a session all about the solar eclipse to teachers in Austin ISD today. Lucia, friend and astronomy educator for the Texas Museum of Science and Technology, planned a wonderful presentation on how eclipses work, what activities they can do with their kids on the first day of school and how to model the eclipse with their students. I lead the teachers in modeling the eclipse and how to project an image of the sun. It was a wonderful experience to share our knowledge with them. I look forward to sharing more astronomy with AISD teachers at next year’s conference.
