McDonald Observatory Trip
What a trip. This is one of the most beautiful places in Texas and also one of my favorite’s for obvious reasons. We camped at Davis Mountains State Park, which I highly recommend, a hop skip and a jump away from the Prude Ranch, home of the Texas Star Party. The last time I was here was 20 years ago with my good friend and professor Dr. Juan Carlos Reina and my friend and fellow physics major Katye. I will always be thankful for the time we spent together here at the Texas Star Party, what I learned from him and the times we spent together learning about and appreciating the night sky.
The McDonald Observatory is always impressive. It is a special place where exciting things happen to further our knowledge of the universe. The girls thought the Hobby-Eberly Telescope was amazing. They were super impressed. I am proud it is here in Texas. If you haven’t been there, it is must see experience for the entire family.
